About Me:I am a clinical psychologist, a wife, a mother, a daughter, a sister and a 4th generation Coloradan. I find solace in the place where the natural world and science meet - always curious to explore, deepen connections and grow beyond what was once believed. I seek to foster others' sense of power and inner knowing, while helping them to remain open and humble to everything life, relationships and their own spirit have to offer.
I believe people,
whether it is a loved one in care or a parent/caregiver supporting them,
have intuitions and inner resources that,
with the right conditions,
can help them move toward healing.
I seek to help others create those conditions -
through tapping into those resources
and learning about themselves and those they love.
My early training was primarily in psychodynamic psychotherapy, providing rich and deep learning about the human condition. I then went on to work in a variety of settings while integrating cognitive-behavioral (CBT, ERP), dialectical behavioral (DBT) and acceptance and commitment (ACT) approaches. My first true passion was helping families heal through family therapy approaches, such as family systems and Family-Based Treatment (FBT). I now enhance all of those efforts with Emotion-Focused Family Therapy (EFFT) - a parent/caregiver model that embodies the essence of my belief in the healing power of caregivers and being in relationship. I am a certified EFFT Advanced Therapist, Supervisor and Trainer. I also sit on the board for the International Institute of EFFT.
My most recent focus has been supporting individuals with non-ordinary states of consciousness. I trained with the Multidisciplinary Association of Psychedelic Studies (MAPS), Polaris Insight Center, Skylight Psychedelics and Psychedelic Somatic Institute (Psychedelic Somatic Interactional Psychotherapy - PSIP) to learn more about working with consciousness expanding experiences. These trainings led to further exploration of mindfulness, parts-work and somatic approaches. I have completed a 2-year training in Hakomi (somatic therapy), which combines much of how I already work with new tools that foster lasting healing and transformation.
