About Me:Adriana Karina Perez is a Registered Social Worker with eight years of clinical experience, currently in private practice in Squamish, British Columbia, offering both in-person and virtual therapy to adults across BC and Ontario. As an immigrant from Venezuela and a person of colour, she brings a grounded, cross-cultural lens to her work and offers therapy fluently in both English and Spanish — one of few Spanish-language therapy options in her region.
Adriana's clinical work centers on anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, relationship difficulties, and major life transitions, drawing on humanistic, evidence-based, and experiential modalities including AEDP, Emotion Focused Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Polyvagal-informed work, Cognitive Processing Therapy, and CBT.
Within the psychedelic space, Adriana offers Ketamine-Assisted Therapy (KAT) for medically and psychologically appropriate clients, working within a dual-therapist model alongside a supervising medical team. For psilocybin- and MDMA-assisted therapy specifically, she does not submit or manage Health Canada Special Access Program (SAP) applications — that step requires a prescribing physician or nurse practitioner. What she offers is the therapeutic support that surrounds an already-approved treatment: for clients who already have a prescriber pursuing SAP access, Adriana provides trained preparation, in-session support, and integration, grounded in her TheraPsil and MAPS training.
Adriana's approach is also explicitly grounded in harm reduction. For people who use substances — psychedelic or otherwise — outside of a clinical setting, she offers non-judgmental, informed support rather than an assumption that abstinence is the only valid goal, honouring each person's autonomy and lived experience.
Outside her private practice, Adriana leads a government-funded internet-based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (iCBT) program at GreenShield Health, providing clinical supervision to a team of therapists delivering care through the Ontario Structured Psychotherapy Program.

Description of Services:Individual Therapy
One-on-one therapy for adults navigating anxiety (generalized and social), panic attacks, depression, trauma and PTSD, relationship difficulties, stress, and major life transitions. Sessions draw on humanistic, evidence-based, and experiential approaches — including AEDP, Emotion Focused Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Cognitive Processing Therapy, and CBT — tailored to what each person needs rather than a single fixed method. Available in English and Spanish, in person in Squamish, BC, or virtually across BC and Ontario.Ketamine-Assisted Therapy (KAT)
A structured therapeutic approach combining a sub-psychedelic dose of ketamine with intentional, integrative psychotherapy. Sessions are held individually with two therapists present, supported by a separate medical team who assess suitability and monitor safety throughout. Draws on attachment-based, emotion-focused, and somatic therapy to support deep, grounded processing.Support for Psilocybin- and MDMA-Assisted Therapy
Trained therapeutic support — preparation, in-session accompaniment, and integration — for clients who already have a prescribing physician or nurse practitioner pursuing access through Health Canada's Special Access Program (SAP). This support does not include submitting or managing SAP applications, which must come from a prescriber; it's the psychological care that surrounds an already-approved treatment, grounded in TheraPsil (psilocybin) and MAPS (MDMA for PTSD) training.Harm Reduction
Non-judgmental, evidence-informed support for people who use substances — psychedelic or otherwise — outside of a clinical setting. Focused on preparation, informed decision-making, integration, and respecting each person's autonomy, without assuming abstinence is the only valid goal.Credentials & Certifications: Registered Social Worker & PsychotherapistLicenses: Ontario College of Social Workers (#829244), BC College of Social Workers (#15864)Details

Overview of Experience:Sessions with Adriana are collaborative and paced to what each person needs — there's no fixed script, and the specific approach shifts depending on whether the work is individual talk therapy, Ketamine-Assisted Therapy, or support around psilocybin- or MDMA-assisted treatment.
For Ketamine-Assisted Therapy, sessions are held individually with two therapists present, alongside a separate medical team who assess suitability beforehand and monitor safety throughout. The dual-therapist model allows for close, attuned support that can track both emotional and somatic experience in real time, drawing on attachment-based, emotion-focused, and body-oriented approaches.
For clients who already have a prescriber pursuing psilocybin- or MDMA-assisted therapy through Health Canada's Special Access Program, Adriana's role is the therapeutic support that surrounds that treatment — not the medical or application side, which stays with the prescriber. That support spans three phases: preparation beforehand (exploring intentions, mindset, and what to expect), presence during the treatment session itself, and integration afterward — making sense of what came up, and carrying it into daily life.
Across all of this work, Adriana brings a grounded, cross-cultural lens shaped by her own experience as an immigrant and person of colour, along with a harm reduction stance that meets people without judgment about substance use, wherever they're starting from.
Intake Process:Free 20-minute discovery call. Every relationship starts with a brief, no-cost consultation — a chance to talk through what's bringing you to therapy and ask questions, with no obligation to continue.
Intake paperwork. If it feels like a good fit, you'll receive a short intake form through Jane App to complete online before your first full session, covering basic health history and consent.
First session. Focused on getting oriented — your history, goals, and how you might work together — and on checking whether the fit feels right, since therapy works best as a good match rather than a fixed assignment.
Ongoing sessions. Most people begin weekly or biweekly to build momentum, then adjust frequency based on what's working. Sessions are available virtually (via Zoom or Jane App's secure video platform) or in person at Sound Mind Counselling Centre in Squamish, BC.
