Retreat Info
About the Retreat:Vine of the Soul Retreats is a trauma-informed psychedelic retreat provider based in the Algarve, Portugal, with occasional retreats in Spain and the Netherlands. We have served 800+ guests since our founding, hold a 4.7★ rating on Trustpilot, and maintain a maximum of 8 - 10 guests per retreat.
Founded by Bianca — a former SAP software consultant and project manager who spent two decades in corporate environments before burnout and depression led her to seek healing through psychedelic-assisted work. When conventional approaches reached their limits, she found her way through a combination of plant medicine, somatic work, and nervous system regulation. That personal journey became the foundation for everything we do. Bianca is now a certified hypnotherapist, RTT practitioner, and trauma-informed coach. Her background is unusual in this space — someone who has lived the exact experience our guests arrive with, and rebuilt her practice from the inside out.
The core facilitation team reflects the same bridge between scientific grounding and lived experience. Rosa holds a PhD in chemistry and brings depth psychology, somatics, and breathwork to her facilitation. Kristina is an educational psychologist and Belief Coding® practitioner. Riccardo is a ceremony guide for Bufo and Kambo, operations lead, and the person who feeds everyone well. Richard is a former entrepreneur turned facilitator who brings honesty, music, and movement to the work. All facilitators remain sober during every ceremony — without exception.
Our ancestral ceremonies are conducted in direct collaboration with traditional lineage holders. Taita Juan is a Kamëntšá Elder from the Sibundoy Valley, Colombia, with over 40 years of ceremonial mastery in ancestral yagé traditions. Marakame Juan is a Wirrarika First Chant Leader and guardian of sacred sites, prayers, and living offerings. These are not ceremonial consultants — they are mentors and active ceremony holders whose lineage anchors the work we do in a Western container.
We operate primarily from Portugal because it offers the clearest and most protective legal environment for this work in Europe. Portugal decriminalized all substances in 2001 — not as a loophole, but as a deliberate public health policy that has been sustained and studied for over two decades. Psilocybin truffle retreats in the Netherlands are conducted under full legal status. Occasional Spain-based retreats work within the long-standing and well-documented tolerance framework for ayahuasca that has operated there for many years. We are transparent with every guest about the legal context of their specific retreat before they book.
We are not the right fit for everyone, and we say so. Every applicant is individually screened. We sometimes recommend a different medicine, a different timing, or a different provider altogether. That integrity is what has produced 800+ guests and a 4.9★ overall rating.
Description of Services:Vine of the Soul Retreats operates primarily from the Algarve, Portugal — the only country in Europe where all substances are fully decriminalized, providing the clearest legal framework for responsible psychedelic work. Occasional retreats are also organised in Spain (where ayahuasca is broadly tolerated) and the Netherlands (where psilocybin truffles are fully legal). All work is conducted within the legal frameworks of the respective jurisdiction.
Multi-medicine by design — not by default
We are often asked why we work with more than one plant medicine. The answer is clinical, not commercial: not everyone can or should take ayahuasca. Contraindications, psychiatric history, medication profiles, nervous system readiness, and personal intention all determine which medicine — if any — is the right door for a given person at a given time.
Our multi-medicine approach exists precisely to serve guests that a single-medicine retreat cannot. Psilocybin truffles (legal in the Netherlands and offered in our Portugal container) are frequently the right choice for guests who are contraindicated for ayahuasca, newer to psychedelic work, or who need perspective and integration rather than deep cathartic processing. San Pedro offers a gentler, heart-centred experience suited to embodiment work. 5-MeO-DMT and Kambo are offered only after individual screening and informed consent — never as standard inclusions.
In practice: we screen every guest, and we sometimes advise against a particular medicine — or against attending altogether. That is part of what makes us different.
Traditional lineage alongside modern science
Our ceremonies are conducted in collaboration with traditional healers — including Taita Juan, a Kamëntšá Elder from the Sibundoy Valley, Colombia, with over 40 years of ancestral yagé lineage, and Marakame Juan, a Wirrarika First Chant Leader and guardian of sacred sites. These are not decorative credentials. Our shamanic collaborators serve as mentors and ceremony holders, bringing intact lineage to the work — while our Western-trained facilitators ensure the psychological safety container around it.
This bridge between ancestral wisdom and clinical grounding is intentional. It reflects how most of our guests actually heal: through the combination, not through one tradition alone.
The BioPsyche Renewal Protocol™ — what no other retreat offers
The most common reason psychedelic retreats fail to produce lasting change is not the ceremony — it is the absence of a structured integration framework built around the body, not just the mind.
The BioPsyche Renewal Protocolâ„¢ (BPR) is our proprietary science-based framework, developed from clinical experience with 800+ guests. It is structured around three phases:
Stabilize — nervous system regulation and physiological preparation before any psychedelic work begins. Most retreat providers skip this phase entirely. We treat it as non-negotiable, because insight cannot be integrated by an dysregulated nervous system.
Illuminate — the ceremonial container itself, held within a trauma-informed psychological framework. Daily integration circles, breathwork, somatic tools, and 1:1 intention setting ensure the peak experiences are processed, not just witnessed.
Embody — the post-retreat arc. Follow-up calls, an AI-powered integration app (available 24/7 in English and German), micro-practices, nervous system tools, and nutritional guidance for mental wellbeing. Transformation is treated as something that happens over weeks — not something that ends when the guest boards their flight home.
The BPR was developed by Bianca, founder of Vine of the Soul Retreats — a former SAP software consultant and project manager who found her own path through psychedelic-assisted work after conventional approaches failed her. That personal recovery story, combined with subsequent training in hypnotherapy, RTT, and trauma-informed practice, shapes the protocol's core premise: that healing requires a regulated body and a supported mind in equal measure. No shortcuts. No spiritual bypassing.
Who we serve
Our primary audience is high-functioning professionals — executives, consultants, therapists, and entrepreneurs — experiencing burnout, depression, emotional disconnection, or a sense that conventional treatment has taken them as far as it can. Many find us while searching for an ayahuasca retreat in Europe. Some arrive knowing exactly what they need. Others need guidance to find the right container. We support both.
Maximum 8 guests per retreat. Facilitators remain sober throughout all ceremonies. Every guest is screened before acceptance.

Overview of Experience:OVERVIEW OF EXPERIENCE
Every retreat at Vine of the Soul Retreats follows the same underlying arc regardless of format: a structured preparation phase before arrival, a daily container on-site that balances ceremony with grounded integration practices, and a supported post-retreat period that continues the work after guests return home. What changes between formats is duration, depth, the medicine arc, and the ratio of group to individual support.
Before arrival — the same for all formats
The experience begins well before the retreat itself. Every confirmed guest receives access to our AI-supported preparation and integration app immediately upon booking. This provides dietary and supplementation guidance, nervous system regulation tools, psycho-educational content, and reflective preparation prompts. A 1:1 screening and intro call clarifies fit, readiness, and the best medicine path for each guest's background and intention. A group preparation call and pre-retreat WhatsApp community follow, establishing shared orientation and reducing first-day anxiety. By the time guests arrive, they are prepared — not arriving cold.5-Day Flexible Reset Retreat — Daily Structure
The flagship retreat runs over 5 days and 4 nights in the Algarve, with 11 scheduled dates across 2026. The daily container is consistent — breathwork, meditation, sharing circles, and integration practices every day. The medicines are optional and individually guided. Most guests choose 3 ceremonies; some choose more, some fewer, and rest days for nervous system integration are actively supported and never discouraged.
Day 1 — Arrival and first ceremony
Guests arrive at 12:00 for check-in and lunch. The afternoon opens with a group orientation talk followed by 1:1 preparation conversations with the facilitation team. The first ceremony begins at 16:00 and includes breathwork, meditation, and — for those whose path includes it — optional ayahuasca. Dinner follows after ceremony, with space for quiet reflection or gentle sharing.
Day 2 — Integration and second ceremony
The morning begins at 09:00 with breakfast, followed by an optional Kambo session at 09:30 for guests for whom it is appropriate and desired. An 11:00 sharing circle provides space to process the previous night. The second ceremony runs at 16:00, again including breathwork, meditation, and optional ayahuasca. Dinner after ceremony.
Day 3 — Bufo option and psilocybin ceremony
After breakfast, an optional Bufo (5-MeO-DMT) session is offered at 09:30 for screened and consenting guests only — this is never a default. The 11:00 sharing circle continues the integration thread. The third ceremony at 16:00 introduces optional psilocybin for those whose medicine path includes it. Dinner follows.
Day 4 — San Pedro day and creativity
Day 4 centres on San Pedro — a longer, gentler, heart-led experience that typically runs through the afternoon. Creative integration practices (art, movement, music) are woven into the day, supporting guests in giving form to what has emerged. This day functions as an embodiment bridge between the deeper processing of earlier days and the grounding work of the final day.
Day 5 — Integration and departure
The final morning focuses on closing the container: a group sharing circle, individual integration conversations, and practical guidance for the weeks ahead. Guests leave with a clear post-retreat support structure — not just memories — including follow-up call access and ongoing AI app support.8-Day Illuminate Retreat — Daily Structure
The Illuminate Retreat is the deepest immersion available, running 8 days in the Algarve throughout 2026. It offers a fixed multi-medicine arc — 2 Ayahuasca ceremonies, 1 Psilocybin ceremony, and 1 San Pedro ceremony — within a structured daily programme. Optional Bufo (5-MeO-DMT) and Kambo are available to appropriately screened guests only and are never included as defaults.
The daily programme follows a consistent rhythm: mornings begin with breakfast and optional bodywork, gentle movement, or somatic practices. Mid-mornings hold sharing circles where the previous night's material is processed in a facilitated group setting. Afternoons move toward ceremony or deeper integration work depending on the day. Evenings are held in ceremony or in quiet integration time, with facilitators present throughout.
The longer duration of the Illuminate Retreat serves a specific purpose: it allows more space between ceremonies for the nervous system to process, rest, and stabilise before the next experience. Rushing the arc is one of the most common mistakes in psychedelic retreat design. Eight days allows the work to deepen progressively — the Ayahuasca ceremonies clearing and revealing, the Psilocybin bringing perspective and integration of what has emerged, and the San Pedro ceremony on the final days anchoring the work in the body and in forward movement.
Post-retreat support includes a group follow-up call and a private 1:1 call, alongside continued AI app access. These are not optional extras — they are built into the programme.Private Psychedelic Retreat — Structure and Format
The Private Retreat removes the group dynamic entirely. One guest — or a couple or pair of close friends — receives the undivided attention of the facilitation team throughout their stay. There are no other participants in ceremony, no other nervous systems to track, and no shared emotional field to navigate. The pace, the medicine selection, the rest periods, and the integration time are all shaped entirely around the individual.
Private retreats are available in 1, 2, or 3 ceremony formats, with stays typically running 2 to 5 nights depending on the scope of the work. Medicine options include Ayahuasca, Psilocybin, San Pedro, and — where clinically appropriate after screening — Bufo Alvarius. For multi-ceremony structures the recommended arc is:
2 ceremonies: Ayahuasca followed by Psilocybin or San Pedro, depending on what is needed after the first experience.
3 ceremonies: Ayahuasca → Ayahuasca or Psilocybin or Bufo → San Pedro, creating a progression from deep clearing through insight to grounded embodiment.
The private format is particularly suited to guests whose themes are highly personal, who have previous experiences that require careful pacing, who are in sensitive life transitions, or for whom group settings feel actively counterproductive. It is also the format of choice for couples who want to work on relational dynamics within a psychedelic container — a context that benefits enormously from dedicated facilitator attention and the absence of group projection dynamics.
Pricing for individual private retreats runs from €1,200 for a single ceremony to €3,800 for three ceremonies. Couple retreats run from €1,900 to €5,700 for the same structure. All formats include screening, preparation, on-site facilitation, and a post-retreat integration call.Intake Process:Joining a Vine of the Soul Retreats programme begins with a structured intake process designed to protect both the guest and the group. We do not operate on a first-come, first-served basis. Every applicant goes through the same sequence before a place is confirmed.
Step 1 — Intake form
The process begins with our online intake form, available at vine-of-the-soul.com/intake-form. The form covers health history, current medications, psychiatric background, previous psychedelic experience, and the intention behind the enquiry. This is not a formality — it is the first layer of clinical screening, and it allows us to assess fit before investing time on either side in a call.
Step 2 — Screening and preparation call
Applicants whose intake form indicates a good fit are invited to a 1:1 screening and preparation call with a member of the facilitation team. This call serves two purposes: it completes the safety assessment — covering contraindications, nervous system readiness, medication interactions, and psychological stability — and it begins the preparation process itself. We discuss intention, what to expect, how to prepare, and which medicine path makes most sense given the guest's background and goals. If at any point we determine that a particular medicine, format, or timing is not appropriate, we say so directly — and where possible we suggest alternatives, including other providers if we are not the right fit.
Step 3 — Preparation and AI app access
Once a place is confirmed, guests receive immediate access to our AI-supported preparation and integration app — the same app that supports them throughout the retreat and during post-retreat integration. In the weeks before arrival the app provides dietary and supplementation guidance, nervous system regulation practices, psycho-educational content about the medicines and the process, and structured reflective prompts to clarify and deepen intention. Guests also join a pre-retreat WhatsApp group with their cohort and receive a group preparation call, establishing shared orientation and a sense of community before anyone has set foot on the property.
By the time a guest arrives, the preparation work is already underway. The intake process is not just a gate — it is the beginning of the retreat itself.Supplemental Modalities: Breathwork, meditation, hypnotherapy, Belief Coding, Yoga, nutrition, supplementsPsychedelic Substances Offered: Ayahuasca, Magic Mushrooms, San Pedro, Bufo Alvarius, Kambo - all consent-led with screeningHow does this Center source medicine?:We source the plants usually from Ecuador, where local farmers plant them.
