About Me:Welcome! My name is Anahita (Ana) Kashefi, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Certified Couples and Sex Therapist with specialized expertise in ketamine- and psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy.
My clinical focus includes ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP), depression, anxiety, relational and attachment-based challenges, and issues unique to creatives and those working in the arts. My approach is relational, attachment-informed, and depth-oriented, grounded in warmth, compassion, collaboration, and a deep respect for the wisdom of the inner healing process. I work carefully and intentionally, helping clients access deeper insight, emotional flexibility, and meaningful change.
I have spent the past four years working closely alongside Dr. Phil Wolfson, MD—one of the pioneers of ketamine-assisted psychotherapy and the author of The Ketamine Papers. During this time, I have participated extensively in clinical KAP work and have had the privilege of co-leading trainings and educating physicians and therapists in ethical, effective psychedelic-assisted treatment. This long-term collaboration has deeply shaped my clinical approach, and I remain committed to carrying forward Dr. Wolfson’s legacy of rigor, integrity, and care in psychedelic psychotherapy, honoring both the clinical and sacred dimensions of this work.
Earlier in my career, my fieldwork included working with children, families, and adults healing from trauma, abuse, and mood disorders. These experiences continue to inform my work today, particularly my attention to safety, attachment dynamics, and the nervous system—essential foundations for both traditional and psychedelic-assisted therapy, and for creating a container in which deep healing can unfold.
I completed a post-master’s fellowship in couples and sex therapy at UCLA through the American Association of Couples and Sex Therapists (AACAST). My training integrated contemporary neuroscience and psychobiology with clinically sophisticated approaches to working with relational, sexual, and intimacy concerns. I support individuals and couples in deepening connection, gently addressing patterns that limit closeness, and cultivating more authentic, embodied, and emotionally attuned relationships.
In addition to my clinical work, I am a trained musician and seasoned performer. Having lived a creative life myself, I understand the vulnerability, courage, and instability that often accompany creative pursuits. I work with artists and creatives to heal internal blocks, soften fear and self-doubt, and reconnect with the inner artist as an integrated part of identity, spirit, and self-expression.
I am based in Marin County, California, and can offer in-person therapy in the Bay Area. I also offer remote sessions across California, supporting individuals in the preparation, integration, and meaning-making aspects of psychedelic experiences.
Please feel free to reach out with any questions!
Warmly,
Ana

Overview of Experience:Both psychedelic preparation and integration focus on how to create experiences that benefit you and help you meet your goals and move your life in a meaningful direction.
Preparation work starts with identifying what outcomes you would like to gain from psychedelic work. This can include identifying material you would like to explore and areas where you hope to gain insight. It can also be about setting intentions for the work and what would feel meaningful for you.
Integration work is about creating a space to process your experiences, explore what is meaningful in them, and identify ways to take insights you've gained and apply them to your daily life and relationships.Intake Process:Please email me with your information and why you are seeking treatment at this time.
From there, we will set up a free 20-minute phone consultation to see if we'd be a good fit.
Further Medical assessment will be necessary for Ketamine-Assisted PsychotherapyPhotos

I found Ana really easy to talk to and sensed a real empathetic nature to her. She is quite passionate about the work she does and is very experienced in her field.
She is the most caring, insightful person I have ever met. Her advise has been extremely valuable to me. I highly recommend taking the 20 minutes free consultation to see for yourself. It sure changed my life!
