About Me:I am Sophia Gebbia-Richards, a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) and certified Psychedelic Guide with a deep passion for guiding individuals toward holistic healing and transformation. I completed my Master of Social Work from Fordham University, where I graduated summa cum laude; I bring a robust educational foundation to my work with clients.
My personal journey, marked by its own struggles and triumphs, has illuminated my path towards helping others find healing. Through my own challenges, I discovered the profound impact that therapy and non-traditional healing practices can have.
Description of Services:My professional experience encompasses conducting remote and in-person therapy sessions for a diverse range of clients struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, and more. I specialize in utilizing Internal Family Systems (IFS), with a unique emphasis on preparation and integration for clients' psychedelic journeys. Overview of Experience:I conduct a minimum of three preparatory sessions, during which I aim to establish a strong therapeutic alliance and clarify the client's intentions for their journey. A pivotal focus of this preparation phase is the cultivation of both internal and external safety within the client's psychological and physical environment. To facilitate this process, I incorporate Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy techniques. On the day of the ceremony, I tailor the approach to the client's specific needs, including determining the appropriate dose, strain, fasting regimen, and timing of intake. We work together to prepare their mindset, acknowledging the potential intensity of the journey and establishing parameters for using an eye mask, listening to music on headphones, or other personalized preferences. My Integration Process with psychedelic-related clients is centered on a holistic approach. The primary focus is on Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy, complemented by somatic work and building a connection with the client. We begin by delving into the journey's experiences and insights, utilizing IFS to explore the various parts of their psyche that emerged during the trip. These sessions are collaborative, allowing the client to process their journey's main themes and moments. Additionally, I provide clients with a summary of trip notes (if they want them), which I take on their behalf during the journey, to facilitate discussion and reflection.
Intake Process:We will have a call together to see if we are a good fit to work together. I am cautious about accepting new clients for psychedelic-related services and make decisions conservatively. I do not work with clients that exhibit signs of schizophrenia, DID, bi-polar or any other medical condition that could harm the client in this work.

Unlike traditional talk therapy, Sophia has a way of cracking you open in the most beautiful of ways and supporting both you and your parts’ needs. She has a knack for holding you in your process and safely guiding you through your healing journey. Above all, I felt a tremendous amount of safety while being emotionally vulnerable in her presence.
