Retreat Info
About the Retreat:APL Shamanic Journeys is dedicated to preserving the integrity of the Amazonian Shipibo tradition while meeting modern standards of safety and care.
Since 2017, we have been running retreats in Peru and Spain in direct partnership with experienced Shipibo Onanya masters and their families. Every program follows a consistent structure: thorough pre-screening, guided preparation, traditional lineage-based ceremonies, and meaningful integration support.
We offer both group retreat programs and traditional plant dietas (sama) — immersive stays rooted in Shipibo practice, designed for those ready to go deeper into their relationship with teacher plants.
Our work is grounded in respect for indigenous knowledge, long-term relationships with the Shipibo community, and a commitment to responsible, participant-centered facilitation.

Intake Process:Screening & Preparation
Every participant goes through a thorough intake process before joining one of our programs. This begins with a detailed application covering health history, current medications, psychological background, and previous experience with plant medicine or other transformative practices.
Our team reviews each application carefully, looking at physical contraindications, potential medication interactions with ayahuasca, and overall readiness for this kind of work. When additional clarity is needed, we schedule a phone or video call with our intake specialist to discuss expectations, answer questions, and assess program fit together.
If we determine that someone is not yet ready for our program, we say so clearly and where possible offer guidance toward more appropriate resources or preparation steps. We typically respond to all applications within 48 hours.
Once accepted, participants receive access to a preparation video course, are connected to the participant group chat, and receive personalized recommendations based on their individual profile. Our team remains available for questions throughout the lead-up to the retreat.
Participants complete consent documentation prior to arrival, including acknowledgment of risks, dietary and lifestyle guidelines, and emergency contact details.Psychedelic Substances Offered: AyahuascaHow does this Center source medicine?:APL Journeys sources Ayahuasca and sacred plants through ethical, traditional, and sustainable channels:
