Retreat Info
About the Retreat:Mahadevi is an ayahuasca retreat in Colombia located near Mocoa in the Putumayo region of the Amazon. We offer a jungle sanctuary where authentic Indigenous ceremony meets modern comfort. This is not a commercial resort, but a carefully held retreat space immersed in nature with rare amenities for the region.
Our retreats are guided by experienced Indigenous Taitas from the Putumayo lineage and supported by a highly trained facilitation team. Groups are intentionally small, with a maximum of 10 to 12 participants, and a high facilitator ratio to ensure safety, personal attention, and deep support throughout the experience.
A unique aspect of Mahadevi is that guests can choose between Crudo Ayahuasca and cooked ayahuasca, also known as Yagé. Crudo is raw, uncooked ayahuasca and is significantly gentler on the body and digestive system. It is especially well suited for people who are new to the medicine or who are concerned about intense physical discomfort or nausea. Cooked ayahuasca or Yagé is also available for those who feel called to work with a more traditional preparation.
The retreat experience spans approximately 60 days in total, including preparation and integration , the in person retreat, and post retreat integration. The in person retreat itself lasts 7 nights and 8 days and is designed to balance ceremony, rest, integration, and connection with nature.
Guests are hosted in a luxury jungle environment with hot showers, swimming pools, jacuzzi, massage services, and WiFi, offering an uncommon level of comfort while remaining deeply connected to the rainforest.

Overview of Experience:Mahadevi offers a deeply supported ayahuasca retreat in Colombia that combines traditional Indigenous ceremony with comprehensive preparation and long-term integration support.
The in person retreat lasts 7 nights and 8 days and takes place in Putumayo near Mocoa, in a secluded jungle sanctuary. Participants are guided through multiple ayahuasca ceremonies led by experienced Indigenous Taitas from the Putumayo lineage, supported by a highly trained facilitation team with a strong focus on safety, care, and integration.
The overall program can span up to 60 days in total, including 14 to 30 days of preparation support before arrival and 30 days of post retreat integration support. This structure allows participants to be supported before, during, and after the retreat, rather than only during ceremony nights.
A unique aspect of our approach is offering both Crudo Ayahuasca and cooked ayahuasca (Yagé). Crudo is a raw, uncooked preparation that is gentler on the body and nervous system and is especially supportive for those new to the medicine. Cooked ayahuasca is also available for participants who feel called to a more traditional preparation.
The retreat experience balances ceremony, rest, nature immersion, group sharing, and integration, all within a small group setting with a high facilitator-to-guest ratio.
Intake Process:All guests at Mahadevi go through a comprehensive intake and screening process to ensure safety, appropriateness, and readiness for an ayahuasca retreat.
The process begins with an initial contact and inquiry, where prospective participants can ask questions and express interest in specific retreat dates.
All applicants are then required to complete a confidential medical and psychological intake form, which includes medical history, current medications, mental health background, and prior experience with plant medicine.
Following the intake form, each applicant participates in a 30 to 60 minute discovery call with a member of the Mahadevi team. This call allows us to review the intake information in detail, assess physical and psychological readiness, clarify expectations, and determine whether participation is appropriate at this time.
Acceptance into the retreat is based on a careful review of medical and psychological considerations, overall stability, and alignment with the retreat structure. Participation may be deferred or declined if safety concerns are identified.
Once accepted, participants are required to review and sign informed consent forms, retreat agreements, and preparation guidelines prior to arrival.
This multi step intake process ensures that all participants enter the retreat with clarity, realistic expectations, and the highest possible level of care and safety.
Psychedelic Substances Offered: Ayahuasca, YagéHow does this Center source medicine?:Mahadevi is located in Putumayo, Colombia, a region widely recognized as one of the ancestral homelands of ayahuasca and Yagé traditions. All medicine used at Mahadevi is sourced directly from Indigenous lands in Putumayo and is harvested by Indigenous communities in alignment with traditional practices and respect for the land.
The ayahuasca is prepared exclusively by our lead Indigenous Taita, who carries a 12 generation unbroken lineage in the Putumayo tradition. Preparation follows ancestral methods and ceremonial protocols passed down through generations, ensuring integrity, continuity, and respect for the medicine.
Mahadevi works with both Crudo Ayahuasca and cooked ayahuasca (Yagé). Crudo ayahuasca is a raw, uncooked preparation that can only be offered when the medicine is freshly harvested and prepared. For this reason, Mahadevi does not use ayahuasca paste or stored concentrates. All medicine is prepared fresh for each retreat, which allows us to offer crudo in its traditional form and ensures the highest level of quality and care.
By sourcing medicine locally and working directly with Indigenous healers and communities, Mahadevi actively supports the local economy, land stewardship, and cultural preservation of the Putumayo region. This approach reflects our commitment to ethical sourcing, sustainability, and respect for the origins of the medicine.
