About Me:I'm Mike Metcalf, a psychedelic guide and personal transformation coach living in Salt Lake City, Utah. I provide mentorship and support for individuals looking for a safe path to exploring alternative medicines for personal growth, healing, and spiritual expansion. I work both in-person and virtually, blending a variety of medicines and modalities adapted to your unique history, personal goals, and current season of life.
My approach to this work is a blend of traditional ceremony with clinical best practices and safety. Before starting my own practice, I was the Lead Ketamine-Assisted Therapy Guide at Noma Therapy, where I completed over 600 sessions with patients and worked closely with prescribers and therapists to collaborate on care. I've also trained with traditional healers to introduce spiritual ritual into the ceremonial container.
Description of Services:Remote and In-Person
I offer both remote and in-person services, and can work with you to determine the right medicine, dose, and level of support needed to feel completely safe and prepared for your journey. In-person ceremonies are typically facilitated out of my home in Draper, Utah, but I am also available for travel. Certain medicines are only available in person.
Background & Specialties
Psychedelics have been profoundly wise teachers in my personal life. Prior to starting down this path, I lived in a constant state of worry, stuck in my own head with a steady stream of self-criticism and judgement. I felt unworthy of love, broken and ashamed. There was always a low hum of existential dread running in the background.
On the other side of it, the worry and the dread has been replaced with an abiding sense of peace and acceptance. I'm able to love and accept myself so much easier, and forgive myself when I make mistakes. I'm at a place in my life where all I want to do is help others learn to do the same! ❤️
I am a former member of the LDS (Mormon) Church, and have a special interest in helping members of that community (both active and former) in navigating faith transitions, deconstructing outdated or unhelpful beliefs, and developing deeper spiritual practices. As a sexual abuse survivor, I also have a special interest in healing from trauma and longterm or treatment-resistant mental health afflictions. I am also the proud father of two queer children and provide a safe, affirmative place for members of the LGBTQ+ community.

Intake Process:Intake includes a free 30-minute discovery call to get to know you and design an offer that is personalized to your unique background, experience, and goals. Clients will also complete a medical and mental health assessment to identify and discuss any potential risks before moving forward.
Overview of Protocol:My practice, Bloom & Decay, is inspired by the cycles of transformation found in the natural world. Each offer is designed as a cycle with three distinct phases: prepare, journey, and integrate.
During preparation, we will take a "soil sample" from the garden of your life to better understand how the conditions from your past informed your current patterns of relating to yourself and the world. We'll also examine your motivations and work together to clarify your intentions and help you feel as safe and ready as possible for your journey.
Journeys can be facilitated in-person or virtually (depending on the medicine). During our time together, I will be fully present to your needs while holding a loving, judgement-free container so that you can fully immerse yourself in your journey knowing you are safe and held.
The final stage of your cycle will include integration coaching where we will review the insights from your journey and begin to identify practical ways to implement incremental positive change.
