Clinic Info
About your Clinic:Awakn Clinics were the first psychedelic-assisted clinics in the UK and Europe, providing evidence based cutting edge treatments for mental health and addiction. This approach combines talking therapy with sessions assisted by psychedelics. We use Ketamine-Assisted Therapy. Awakn currently has four clinics through the UK and Europe.
This combination has unique effects on the brain circuitry associated with unhelpful thinking and behavioural patterns. It may allow you to work through issues in ways that have not been possible with therapy alone, and help you to relearn the behaviours and thought patterns that hold you back.
If other therapies and treatments have failed to deliver, ketamine therapy may offer potential to create fundamental changes that deliver profound improvements to your mental health.
Description of Services:At Awakn Clinics London we offer Ketamine-Assisted Therapy for following indications:
- Addictions
- Anxiety Disorders
- Depression
- Eating Disorders
- PTSD
Addiction – like anxiety, depression, PTSD and Binge Eating Disorder – is based on patterns of behaviour established in the brain, often in response to trauma.
Our approach using Ketamine, disrupts the brain circuits that underpin these unhelpful patterns. The Ketamine weakens the neural connections linked to harmful thought patterns and addictions, opening the door for our trained and skilled therapists to harness this flexibility and help clients to develop more effective ways of responding to challenging thoughts and feelings and to make lasting behavioural changes in their lives. Using ketamine in combination with talking therapy can facilitate psychological breakthroughs, which therapy alone can often fail to achieve.
Our highly experienced clinicians deliver a course of bespoke therapy, which includes several sessions which include doses of medical grade ketamine, administered in a safe therapeutic setting.
This is an entirely new paradigm for mental health and we believe this is the biggest change to psychiatry in 100 years.

Overview of Experience:For all indications outside of Alcohol addiction treatment , you will receive 11 sessions of psychotherapy, spread over an 8-week course, which will include 4 ketamine administrations (given intramuscularly, IM), 6 non-drug preparation and integration psychotherapy sessions and a final post-course evaluation session 3 weeks after the end of the therapeutic course.
Over the course of the therapeutic sessions, the ketamine dose will be collaboratively adjusted according to your individual response.
All psychotherapy sessions, both non-drug and drug-assisted, will take place face-to-face (in person) at an Awakn clinic. We do not offer remote/Zoom sessions. This means clients must be either resident near the clinic , or committed to travel on a regular basis throughout the therapeutic course.
For the first 5 weeks of the 8-week course, sessions are at least weekly and on 4 occasions twice-weekly.
For alcohol addiction treatment it is a shorter course of 7 sessions over 4 weeks with some preparation calls possibly needed.
Intake Process:All clients undergoing KAP must be under the care of a UK
registered GP. This is essential for us to communicate medical
issues between Awakn and your GP.Clients are advised to fill out a self-referral form on our website that indicates any initial eligibility issues. Our medical team will then be in touch with you and will ask you to gather previous medical history documents and invite you in for an initial medical assessment with a consultant psychiatrist who will give a psychiatric and brief health examination to determine if the treatment is suitable for you.
