About your Clinic:Sky Medicine is a Boulder-based integrative therapy practice offering psychedelic-assisted therapy, preparation, and integration. Founded by Sara Lewis and Brett Knowles, the clinic brings together contemplative psychotherapy, somatic therapy, and body-based medicine to support deep and lasting change.

As a contemplative psychotherapist I see the inherent goodness and wakefulness in every aspect of being alive. I help my clients explore how they can honor and even find wisdom in those parts of themselves they might rather not see. I have been doing psychedelic preparation and integration work since 2007, including helping people to work with trauma or spiritual emergencies that sometimes occur in the context of medicine work. My approach is both narrative and somatic, particularly for clients working with trauma.

Overview of Experience:Our process is designed to support clients before, during, and after psychedelic experiences, with an emphasis on preparation, safety, and integration.
Preparation begins with establishing a strong therapeutic foundation. This includes clarifying intentions, building trust, and developing the skills needed to stay present and regulated during an experience. We typically recommend a series of preparation sessions to support readiness and ensure that the process is well-paced and appropriate.
Ketamine-assisted sessions are conducted in collaboration with licensed medical providers who are responsible for prescribing and monitoring treatment.
Integration focuses on how the experience is held in the body and mind over time. Rather than rushing to interpret or explain the experience, we support clients in allowing meaning to unfold through somatic awareness, emotional processing, and reflection. This helps translate insight into lasting change.
Our work emphasizes both regulation and insight, recognizing that meaningful understanding often emerges through the body as well as the mind.
Intake Process:The intake process begins with an initial consultation to understand your goals, history, and what you are seeking support with. This includes a review of mental health history, current support systems, and any prior experience with psychedelics.
We collaborate with a network of trusted prescribers, including psychiatrists and psychiatric nurse practitioners, who are responsible for medical screening and evaluation. If you already have a provider, we are happy to coordinate with your existing care team.
In most cases, we begin with a series of preparation sessions to build a strong therapeutic relationship, develop somatic awareness, and establish a sense of safety and trust. This phase also allows us to assess readiness and ensure that this work is a good fit.
From there, we create an individualized plan for ketamine-assisted therapy and ongoing integration, tailored to your needs, pacing, and goals.
