Therapist Info
About Me:I am a trauma, Grief and addictions counselor with an additional focus on the military/vets communities. I am also an apprentice yoga therapist and a registered yoga teacher, with additional training in yoga nidra and yin yoga, both yogic approaches to deep relaxation and healing. I have found my calling in this healing path, building on past professional experiences as a journalist, PR rep, and public health policy specialist. I also very much enjoy drumming and drum circles, and any excuse to be outdoors - hiking, biking, kayaking, beach trips, and more.
Description of Services:The services I provide an in-person and virtual therapy, from an existential and ACT-based lens. That means I am always working with my clients to increase psychological flexibility as well as connection to healthy communities, increased sense of meaning and purpose and increased sense of control over their lives. The empathic, confidential relationship I build with my clients is the primary healing tool, however I do have techniques and specialized trainings that allow me to help my clients with their goals of healing from trauma, addiction, grief & loss, and a wide range of transpersonal or expanded state experiences that may be difficult to discuss with other people. When it is appropriate, I include expressive arts activities such as art, poetry and writing generally, and also nature-based approaches. I often work from a generational perspective, looking at the strengths and survival skills my clients have been given by their ancestors, and asking the question "What kind of ancestor do you want to be?" Additionally, as a yoga teacher and yoga therapist in training I can offer yoga therapy for clients.
