Overview of Experience:Once your retreat is booked, it's crucial to begin preparing yourself thoroughly for the upcoming Ayahuasca ceremonies. While adjusting your diet is the primary focus, here are other preparations either required or recommended at Jochipapanete:
Cease the use of recreational drugs for at least three weeks prior to and after your retreat; the longer the abstinence, the better.
Abstain from all sexual activity, including masturbation, two weeks before and two weeks after your retreat.
Consider refraining from cannabis consumption for at least two weeks before and after your retreat.
Explore your capacity to trust in the process of life. Ayahuasca retreats can present formidable challenges, demanding trust in the journey. Spiritual growth and healing may entail discomfort, prompting doubts about the value of such pain. By acknowledging this beforehand, you can prepare to trust and surrender to the process.
Cultivate mindfulness through practices like meditation, yoga, or solitary walks in nature, disconnecting from electronic devices.
Express gratitude for being summoned by Ayahuasca to receive guidance on your life path. Aim to find moments to smile each day, embracing the journey ahead with positivity.
Intake Process:The Ayahuasca dietary regimen holds significant importance in your preparation for the Ayahuasca experience. This diet serves multiple physical and energetic purposes, with one apparent benefit being its role in readying your digestive system for the purging process during the ceremonies. We strongly advise adjusting your diet at least two weeks before the retreat commences:
Absolutely no consumption of red meat, particularly pork.
No alcohol whatsoever.
Minimize intake of highly salted, fried foods, dairy, caffeine, and refined sugars.
Avoid fermented and spicy foods.
Include fresh or cooked vegetables in your diet.
Incorporate legumes, beans, and peas.
Incorporate non-refined cereals like rice and oats.
Include fresh fruits and juices.
Incorporate healthy fats such as avocados, coconut oil, olive oil, and nuts.
Include fish and eggs.
Moderate consumption of chicken (avoid fried preparations).
Psychedelic Substances Offered: Ayahuasca MedicineHow does this Center source medicine?:At Jochipapanete, the Ayahuasca consumed is meticulously prepared onsite by our Maestros and staff, utilizing only the two essential ingredients: Ayahuasca vine and Chacruna leaves. We abstain from incorporating any other admixture plants.
Initially, the Ayahuasca vine undergoes a meticulous process. It's segmented, cleaned, and pounded with a wooden mallet, facilitating the breakdown of the vine and increasing its surface area for optimal extraction of medicinal properties during brewing. Subsequently, the prepared Ayahuasca vine is combined with Chacruna leaves and water in a large pot, where it undergoes a 12-hour brewing process over a hot fire within our Brewing Hut.
The significance of the brewing process lies not only in its technique but also in the intention of those involved. Therefore, all Ayahuasca at Jochipapanete is brewed onsite under the careful supervision of our Maestros. Brewing sessions are conducted during retreat times, allowing guests the opportunity to observe and even participate in the process.
